A thought is one of the most powerful things in the world. If it gets planted in your head it has an opportunity to get birthed in your life.
Where do you store your problems? You store them in your mind. Now that’s not a positive thing—it’s called worry. Worry is the devils anointing. It’s his empowerment and enablement to succeed in your life.
Every thought in your mind is transmitted to the cells in your body. There are cells of your body that are assigned to act as defenders from foreign matter. If your mind is full of confusion, doubt, fear, worry, and anxiety, those thoughts confuse and weaken the cells that are assigned to protect your body against illness. That’s why you hear people saying, “All that stress and worry actually made me sick.” Their “soldier cells” became weakened by what the destructive thoughts deposited in them.
Here’s a strategy. Police every thought that comes to your mind. The apostle Paul was aware of this when he said, “…Bringing EVERY THOUGHT into captivity…” (II Corinthians 10:5b). Your mouth is the police department of your mind.
Don’t let errant, foolish, crazy thoughts roam free in your mind. Here’s what you should do with every crazy thought.
- Hand Cuff It
- Your mouth is your seat of authority over your mind.
- Use your mouth to “hand cuff” wrong thoughts so they can’t roam free in your mind.
- Say things like, “I denounce you—I silence you, and give you no place to operate in my life.”
- Arrest It
- How does someone know they are under arrest? The one with authority says, “You’re under arrest.”
- So, when something crazy enters your mind that you don’t want to see in your life, say, “I arrest you and give you no place to operate in my life!”
- Put It In Jail
- Jesus said in Mark 11:23a—You shall SAY unto this mountain…(your mountain being the thoughts you’ve stored in your head that are plaguing you).
- You must speak out loud to wrong thoughts.
- You have to take your policing authority (your mouth) and speak to wrong thoughts, and tell them, “…Be thou removed and cast into the sea (i.e. cast into jail)(Mark 11:23b).
The crazy thoughts that you allow to roam free in your mind are the ones that have the greatest power to enter your life.
